Brief info

Emma is one of the founders and directors of Quality Languages. Having worked in the language industry as an interpreter and translator for almost 20 years, she was awarded Chartered Translator status by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) in 2018. She is also a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and volunteers as joint-coordinator of the ITI's Western Regional Group.


After graduating, Emma completed the post-graduate Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (Law), and worked for almost 10 years as a Police and Courts Interpreter with the Association of Police & Court Interpreters (APCI) and the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI), before pursuing written translating.

Emma also spent more than 10 years working in sales and manufacturing environments both in Spain and the UK. She is highly familiar with the terminology and practices used in such settings and appreciates the importance of profit, budgets and deadlines. Having lived in Spain, Mexico and Chile as well as the UK, Emma understands the challenges of bilingual living and has frequently worked with individuals and businesses needing to relocate or function in multiple countries.


Qualified Member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting; Chartered Linguist (Translator) at the Chartered Institute of Linguists; Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (Law); BA Hispanic Studies. ISO 17100:2015 qualified.
